Exam Tips

Try to avoid alcohol the night before an exam, especially in quantity, as a bad hangover is among the very worst things to be suffering from in an exam room.


Look at old exam papers to familiarise yourself with the type of questions that may arise. This is so you can preapre properly.

Practise meditation to help u concentrate and not get carried away with the pressure that the exam puts on you.

Fantasy and Science Fiction

I think boys enjoy the science fiction and fantasy books more than other books because firstly it gives the guys some excitement, something to catch their attention. Then guys don't like boring stuff so they want someone that is outrages and something that gets the adrenalin pumping.
This relates to me, I don't like boring books but i do like some stories that are based on real life as long as their is something interesting.
I can't say anything about other guys that I know because i have never really talked about reading with them before.
Well the only books I like that are non fiction are books about the war, my grandfather went and it interests me but other than that I like adventure books with guns and murders and stuff that is interesting.

Poetry

Peorty has been around for a long time cos there are many artistic people in the world and peotry has been made into different things such as movies and songs so it is being used in different ideas and ideas that people will actually like. The most popular forms of peotry are songs, it teaches us a lot about our lives because other people describe their lives to us in ways they never before could. I like peotry that comes easily to me and is easy to understand, the peom I know about is David Crocker, I am not sure what sort of poem it is, it is memprable to me because it was passed onto me by my brother and I think it's funny

Poetry
i think that this quote means that artist people like poetry and it brings out a side of them that they cannot normally share with friends, family or people in general.
I agree a bit that we need poetry but only because songs are poetry. I like having music and poetry is apart of that music.
The first example of poetry is the Pain Supllies advert. It has a song on the ad which rhyms and is about of poetry. If it was written as a prose it wouldn't be a catchy tune which people would remember.

Books v Movies

Hey everyone.
Personally i think that books are better than movies because they give us more detail and they don't leave a lot of things out.
With the Harry Potter series there have been 7 books written but with each movie that has come out there has been a lot of stuff that is missing out so it doesn't make that much sense to people that read the book.
However to people that just watch the movie it makes a lot of sense and with some movies it just wouldnt be the same to read a book. With action movies with all the explosions and therforth you couldn't get that in a book. It just wouldn't be the same.

Akermanis's Comments

Hey everyone i think that Jason Akermanis's comments are fairly well justified because in the AFL every player should be fit but a midfield player should be even fitter.
The player in question is Michael Braun and Akermanis claims that when Akermanis stood Braun for the second time that he had improved greatly in his fitness which isn't normal unless you are always under a injury cloud meaning you aren't performing to your greatest potential.
But i still don't think Braun has taken performance enhancing drugs because he was always a good player and that hasn't changed.

My holiday book

The book that i chose to read during the holidays was called the hit list by Chris Ryan. It was about a ex SAS soldier who was trying to find a life outside of the SAS starting as a school teacher he ended up doing the inevitable and killing two kidnappers as they tried to kill a student of the school. He was then a body guard who lost his job and one of his ex SAS soldiers offered him a job as a hit man and he worked for a team called Cadre and he was involved in helping the nation.
This book is probably recommended for teenagers or mature readers because it is a very detailed book with detailed situations.
This book is very good because it has a lot of detail and mistery to it but you never know where it will end up and it will surprise you with the end result and everything that happens during the book. It will sell because it will intrigue people into reading it and want to find out more.

Peak Adventure

Hey if i was going on peak adventure i would choose to go surfing because i have never surfed before and it isn't far from home.
Next week instead of going to peak adventure i will be at home and i will be shifting sheep and cattle and doing general farm work.
I could go sleep out in the scrub in the paddock and make a fire and cook food on it but i don't really want to. Working from 8 30 in the morning till 5 30 at night would be a challenge for me because there isn't that much stuff to do on a farm without having someone tell me what needs to be done because I never get to go home much anymore.
I think it's important to challenge myself beyond my comfort level because after school finishes i could be doing work that i don't necessarily like but have to do to make a living

Shakespeare

Hey everyone i can honestly say that i have not read any of Shakespeare's' poetry and i haven't seen any of his plays but i have seen some of his modern work such as Ten things i hate about you. I know that Shakespeare is a famous poet and that he was involved with writing plays, comedy and also tragedy. He was well known back in the 16Th century. Mr S is putting a play but i am not interested in being apart of this because i strongly dislike drama and acting.

What i think of that guys blog

I think that the guy on that website created a blog telling us about this book because kids of the younger generation are more into computer games than reading books and just taking it easy. They made this site so that they will get younger boys and girls interested in books and to show that they can be as exciting as a computer game.
People that read books have a lot more knowledge than people that don't read and are just lazy. Books contain a lot of knowledge that cannot be found anywhere else so most of the smart people in the world would have read a lot of books when they were younger and learnt a lot of things.
I think everyone and anyone would be interested in reading this blog because it tells us about an exciting a book.
I red the first blog entry about mountain cabin entry and I felt inclined to post a comment but i chose not to.

My way of finding a book

Hey everybody. Well the way i find a book is i browse through the shelves in our library and look for a title of a book that jumps out at me and makes me think about it. If i think it's good then i will look at the book and read the blurb on the back and it will tell me whether or not it is a good book. It s a sucessful book then it makes me interested and for me to be interested it has to have action and killing in it because that is a good book but it has to have mystery as well.

My second book

The name of the main character of my second book is shane and he is 17 and he is about 6 foot tall and about 150 lbs. He moved to an abandoned farm that had an old school building on it and they discover some strange secrets. He associates with his dog and the old guy that he and his dad bought the land off who is his neighbour. The neighbour is actually a murderer and with the help of his dog uncovers the truth of the murderer. The author created this character because it fits into the story that a strong young man can handle being alone in the wilderness for days. The story would be really different because a girl wouldn't have been as strong or she mite have been stronger than what shane was.

Hey peoples. I think people would rather have a bog rather than a diary simply because no-one close to u can read it without knowing who you are. Diary's are personal things which many people keep as a secret. They don't like people close to them knowing there deep dark secrets or knowing what they did last summer. Having a blog means i can write stuff about books and other things that i do and not have to worry about people knowing who i am and judging me.

My first short novel

Hey i read a short book about an asian family that moved to a little english town but they had people that were racist towards them and threatened them. They were determined to stay in the village and open up a newsagents. The main character is Jaspal and his mum and dad. Jaspal makes friends with jemma and katie and jemma's step brother bullies Jaspal until Jaspal puts an end to it. But after that Jemma's stepbrother, Steggsy, burnt down Jaspals newsagents store injuring Jaspals dad and killing his mum. It is a good book and it gave me an incite into what people that may look different to everyone else might feel when they move to a new town and try new things. I enjoyed this book.

My self as a reader

I like reading. It is fun because i get absorbed in the book and don't worry about whatever else is happening. I am a fast reader and i like to read a long book. If i start a book i always want to finish it because i don't like leaving things half done. If i read more often then i would probably become a better reader. If i get bored i read.
